Menalon Trail

Der Ort

The Menalon Trail is a circuit through Gortynia in Arcadia, Peloponnese, linking traditional stone-built villages along the Lousios river gorge, fir and oak forests, and old kalderimi mule tracks with stone bridges and threshing floors. It was the first trail in Greece to receive European Ramblers Association "Leading Quality Trail — Best of Europe" certification. The route stays in a rolling 500-1150m elevation band with no technical sections, though a few of its eight stages run 12-15km with sustained climbs.
