Account & Data Deletion

This page explains how to delete your Refuge account and the personal data associated with it. You can do this yourself from within the app, or by contacting us.

Delete your account from the app

1. Open the Refuge app and sign in.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Tap Delete account.
4. Confirm when prompted.

Your account is deleted immediately after you confirm.

Delete your account by request

If you cannot access the app, email us at contact@refuge.camp from the address associated with your account and ask us to delete it. We will process your request and confirm by email.

What gets deleted

When your account is deleted, we delete or anonymise the personal data linked to it, including:

• your profile (name, email, username, bio, profile picture and preferences);
• your favorites, visited marks and private notes;
• your search history;
• your follow connections;
• your sessions and login credentials.

Content you contributed to the community — such as refuge photos, comments and field reports — is deleted or disassociated from your identity. We may retain a limited amount of data where we are legally required to do so.
