Refuge du Col du Petit Cucheron

The place

Recently renovated refuge at 1228 m near the Col du Petit Cucheron (Belledonne, Savoie). Along a forest road closed to traffic from the Col du Grand Cucheron heading north towards the Fort de MontGilbert, about a 30-minute walk. Bright single room with 4 beds with mattresses and a comfortable foam bench. New wood stove installed in 2026 (takes 50 cm logs), axe and saw, dishes, table for 6 people and benches. No running water. Marked on IGN 3433OT map as a building but not as a refuge, slightly north-west of the Col du Petit Cucheron.
